Jamaica - Apply for Agent under National Insurance Scheme


Procedure

Apply In-Person

  1. If you wish to appoint an agent under the National Insurance Scheme (NIS), you have to submit your application to the NIS office under the Ministry of Labour and Social Security (MLSS). please view the NIS contact details in the “Offices and Contact” section below
  2. Obtain the application form from the NIS office in person or download the form from the MLSS website through this link:Link (choose “Agent Application” and download the form)
  3. Complete the application form correctly. Note that you should follow the rule provided under “Witness’ Certificate and Signature” then have the complete form authenticate and signed by a justice of the peace or medical practitioner or notary public or solicitor (UK)
  4. Prepare the required supporting documents and attach them to the application form
  5. Once your application form and all supporting information and documents have been completed, signed, stamped, and certified where required, go to the NIS office and submit the application to the NIS official at the service desk
  6. The NIS will verify your application and confirm if the application meets the required standards
  7. Once everything has been assessed and the application is successful, the NIS will add the agent’s details into their system and issue you the relevant documents
