Senior management, key personnel and trainees working in an overseas branch of a multi-national company to transfer to the Irish branch. They must be earning at least 40,000 a year (trainees must be earning at least 30,000 a year) and have been working for the company for a minimum of 12 months.
The Department of Jobs Enterprise and Innovation examines a number of criteria when assessing an Intra-Company Transfer Employment Permit application.

Applications may be granted for a maximum period of up to 24 months in the first instance and may be extended upon application to a maximum stay of five years.

In general, non-EEA nationals need to secure an employment permit to be able to work in Ireland. EEA and Swiss nationals do not need an employment permit.
Under the Employment Permits Acts 20032014 there are 9 types of employment permit one of which is Intra-Company Transfer Employment Permit.
