1. To apply for learner driver license, visit your nearest NDLS centres which is in the following list : NDLS Office Locations
2. Fill in the following application form : Application Form
3. A completed NDLS Eyesight report form D502 dated within one month of application.
4. A Theory Test certificate which must be issued within two years of the date of application.
5. A completed NDLS Medical report form dated within one month of application if required in your case. More information on medical report More info.
6. Make sure you have all the above mentioned documents and the ones that are listed under "Required Documents" section.
7. Your willl be provided with a learner driver permit.

• Correspondence from a bank/credit union
• Correspondence from a government body

• To apply for a learner permit you must be able to demonstrate that you are normally resident in Ireland;
• You can apply for a learner permit up to three months before its expiry date.

• If your learner permit has expired for five years or more you must start the application process afresh and take a driver theory test, mandatory driving lessons and a driving test.
