1. Apply for a visa online - Link. The link will direct you to Irish Naturalisation and Immigration Service online visa application facility.
2. Complete all sections of the application form. Once you have completed your Online Application and clicked on the Submit button, you will need to print a Summary Sheet, sign and date it.
3. You must sign the form yourself. The only exception is for children under 18 - the parent(s) may sign in this case.
4. The Summary Sheet will give you information on how you can submit your supporting documentation. You will need to submit the signed and dated Summary Sheet, along with your supporting documentation.
5. Pay the visa application fee.

Note: You may be required to provide your Biometrics information as part of the application process.

Minimum documentation for all visa applications:

• Completed application form
• A passport which is valid for a period lasting at least 6 months after the date you propose to leave Ireland.
• Proof that you can support yourself for the duration of your stay in Ireland. A detailed bank statement, covering the 6 months before you apply for the visa, and showing sufficient funds, is required.
• Provide details of any members of your family who are in Ireland or any other EU country. You must also give details of any previous applications that you have made for a visa to enter Ireland.

Notes:

• If any of this documentation is missing, your application will be refused.
• All documents must be in English. If you are presenting documents in another language, you must provide a notarised translation as well as the original document.

You will need to provide the following with your visa application. (Please remember, original documents are required and must be in English or accompanied by a notarised translation):

• Letter of acceptance from a recognised school/college/university in Ireland confirming that you have been accepted on a course of study. This course of study must be full-time (lasting an academic year) and have a minimum of 15 hours per week study time.
• Evidence of your academic ability to pursue the chosen course through the English language (unless it is an English language course).
• Evidence that the fees for the course have been paid in full.
• Evidence that you have enough funds (7,000) to maintain yourself for the initial part of your stay.
• Evidence that you or a sponsor have access to at least 7,000 for each subsequent year of your studies, in addition to the course fees for each of those years.
• Evidence that you have private medical insurance
• An explanation of any gaps in your educational history
• Confirmation that you intend to return to your country of permanent residence when you leave Ireland.

You do not need a visa to enter Ireland if you are a citizen of the EEA or of one of the countries in the list.

If you do not require an entry visa to enter Ireland, you do not require a student visa to study in Ireland.

You do not need a visa to land in Ireland if:

• You hold a valid travel document issued in accordance with Article 28 of the Geneva Convention

• Single entry visa: 60
• Multiple entry visa: 100

Certain applicants are not required to pay a fee. They include visa-required spouses and certain family members of EU/EEA citizens. You can apply for a study visa up to 3 months before your date of travel to Ireland.

If you are visiting another State prior to travelling to Ireland, you must have the relevant visa for that State in your passport before applying for an Irish visa.

Citizens of certain countries must apply for an entry visa before they travel to Ireland. Without a visa they will not be allowed to enter the country.
