1. To obtain an identity card, you will need to go to your local municipality.
2. Complete an application and present supporting identity documents. If you have an expiring ID, present it when you are applying for a new.
3. Applicants will need to submit two 3x4cm photo.

• Completed application form
• Original copy and a photocopy of all pages of the applicants Iranian Birth Certificate(Shenasname).
• Two 3x4cm photo (Including a full face, front view, open eyes, without a hat, glasses or neck scarves, with the exception of headscarves(hijab for women)). [The individuals personal details must be inscribed on the back of every piece of photo]

NOTE: If the applicant do not know his/her National ID card number, then s/he is not required to necessarily fill out the respective field in form no.270.

Every permanent resident of Iran above the age of 15, whether a citizen or not, must hold a valid National Identity (NID) Card.
