1. To apply for a Temporary Residence Permit, applicants will need to go to the Aliens Affairs Bureau of law enforcement forces within 8 days from their arrival in Iran.
2. Applicants will need to be ready to present their passport and other valid identification. Applicants will also need to be prepared to present additional supporting documents like work permit to those who are intending to work in the country.

Temporary residence permit will be issued by the Aliens Affairs Bureau of law enforcement forces, within 8 days after the foreigners' arrival in Iran.

Temporary residence permits may be renewed and extended. Exit permit visa for foreign nationals is also issued by the Bureau.

Foreign nationals are not allowed to remain in Iran longer than given permission in case of overstaying, offenders will be dealt according to the regulation.
