1. The foreigner or guarantor must file an immigrant petition to the Chief Immigration Officer at the Immigration Office or a designated jurisdiction covers the area concerned Foreigners living.

Children of Foreigners who are legally married to Indonesian citizens who are under 18 years of age and unmarried fathers or mothers combine with Indonesian citizens:

• letter of request from the father or mother of Indonesian citizens
• copy of marriage certificate or marriage certificate of parents
• photocopy of identity card or mother's father is an Indonesian citizen is still valid
• family card photocopy father or mother that Indonesian citizens, and
• status over the decision letter

To get Permanent residence visa, the requirements and procedures are different from person to person, depending on who files it and his/her status in Indonesia as what.

According to the laws of immigration No. 6/ 2011 article 54 and article 60, for foreigners the holders of KITAS with his/her status as worker, clergy, investor and old in age, then they may file for Permanent residence visa/KITAP after residing for 3 consecutive years. While for foreigners married to Indonesian nationals, then they may file for Permanent residence visa after the length of marriage has reached 2 years. Likewise for husbands, wives or children of foreigner who has had Permanent residence visa/KITAP then they may directly file for Permanent residence visa/KITAP . In particular for foreigners who formerly Indonesian nationals and formerly subject as the children of dual nationalities then they get greater priority and may directly file for Permanent residence visa. While in accordance to Laws No. 6 /2011 article 54, stating that foreigners the Holders of Permanent residence visa / KITAP have already become Indonesian residents and shall obtain greater facility compared to foreigners the holder of KITAS or other kind of visa.
