1. To Update or Change your Name in Aadhaar Card, the applicant has to approach the Nearest enrolment centre link

NOTE: Search the enrolment centre by state wise, postal code or search box.

1. An application form will be provided to the applicant by the concerned officer.
2. The applicant has to fill in all the necessary details in the application form. (Incomplete applications are not accepted)
3. Make sure that the applicant has attached all the necessary documents that are mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
4. The applicant has to attach photocopies of the required documents along with the application form while submitting it.
5. Submit all the documents with the completed form to the concerned officer.
6. The applicant has to pay the prescribed fee as requested by the authority.
7. In some cases, the applicant may need to visit a nearby Aadhaar Seva Kendra or Enrollment Center for bio-authentication (fingerprint or iris scan) to complete the update process. The UIDAI website will provide information on this if required.
8. After receiving the application, the concerned authority will check the submitted application and document set. If all are in place, the application will be accepted.
9. An acknowledgment receipt will be provided. Please save it for future reference.
10. Then the application will be processed further. All the updates on the application status will be sent via SMS to the applicant’s mobile number.
11. Once the process gets completed, the applicant gets a call from the office regarding the application.
12. The applicant will get the updated card through post.
13. This entire process can be completed within 1 – 2 months or as per the timeline advised by the respective department authority.

Apply Online – To book an appointment

1. To book an appointment, the applicant has to use the following link link
2. Select the city and click the “Book an appointment”.
3. Enter the mobile number with the captcha code and click the “Generate OTP” button.
4. The applicant will receive the OTP from the given number.
5. Enter the OTP and also select the date and time.
6. Pay the amount of Rs. 50 for appointment and click the “Submit” button.
