India - Give Notice for Eviction (Owner to Tenant)


Procedure

Apply In-Person:

  1. To evict a tenant the owner should approach the department of housing and urban development.
  2. The officer will advise the owner to write an eviction letter to the tenant.
  3. The letter must include a strong reason for eviction, the period for eviction, and penalty, if the tenant lived for a long period and attested with the signature.
  4. Make sure to have all the documents that are listed in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
  5. After completion, the letter should be submitted, and the designated authority will review the letter.
  6. After accepting the letter, the eviction letter will be sent to the tenant before moving to the court.
  7. Case will be filed in the civil court and the notice would be sent to the tenant for hearing.
  8. The authorities will advise the amount to be remitted as per the mode given in the “Fees” structure below.
  9. The owner should wait for the decision until the court decides.
  10. Fees for this procedure is Rupees 100 for suit a file in court.
