Idaho - Obtain Driver Record


Procedure

  1. Complete a written request.
  2. Submit your request along with driver's information such as Driver's name, license number and date of birth.
  3. Specify which document do you need.
  4. Pay the fee.


Online

  1. Complete a Driver Records Request Form.
  2. Save the form then fill it out, print it and mail it per the instructions on the form (do not send cash in the mail).

Eligibility

The persons authorized to request for DLR shall include the following:

  • Any government agency carrying out its related functions.
  • Motor vehicle dealers or manufacturers or vehicle survey research persons.
  • Vehicle business agents.
  • By lawyers, in connection with any civil, criminal, administrative or arbitral proceedings.
  • By research persons for producing statistical reports.
  • By vehicle insurer or insurance support organization.
  • By agents for providing notice to the owners of towed or impounded vehicles.
  • By any licensed private investigative agency or licensed security service.
  • By an employer or its agent or insurer to obtain or verify information relating to the holder of the driver's license.
  • By private toll transportation facilities, such as parking facilities for the purpose of providing notice to the owners of vehicles, and also
  • By individuals for requesting their own driving record.

  • Certified driver packet: $28.00

An Idaho driver license number consists of nine-digit, alpha-numeric number starting with two alpha characters followed by six numerical characters and ending with one alpha character.
