Apply In-Person :

1. To apply for Contract Carriage Permit in Himachal Pradesh the applicant has to approach the RTO office to which his area belongs to. Following link can provide you information related to the list of RTO office : RTO Office
2. Application in HP FROM XXII P.C.O. P.A. is required. Application forms can be obtained from the following link : Form
3. Please make sure you have all the documents that are listed down the “Required Document” section of this page.
4. Application forms can also be obtained from the appropriate RTO offices that can be completed and presented with appropriate fees.
5. Present the completed application forms in one of the counter and pay the appropriate fee where the officials would start processing your application.
6. Important verifications for the permit includes Vehicle condition, seating arrangements etc.; will be carried by authorities.
7. After checking the vehicle for its correctness and other appropriate requirements the application will be processed.
   
   

Apply Online:

1. To apply for particular contract carriage permit, the applicant has to visit the official portal of the Ministry of Road Transport & Highways: Link to Portal
2. In the homepage, please scroll down to “Informational Services” and click on the “more” button in the “Citizen Guide” tab.
3. The applicant will be taken to the “Manual” page where all the available services will be listed.
4. Please click on the name of the required service and click on “Step by Step procedure” from the drop down menu.
5. The applicant will be taken to a new PDF page where the process for applying will be explained clearly.
6. Please follow the steps to complete the application.

For Grant :

1. Application forms can be obtained from following link : Form
2. Registration Certificate of the vehicle.
3. Fitness Certificate.
4. Proof of payment of tax for the current Quarter.
5. Insurance Certificate.
6. No object certificate from the financier if the vehicle concerned is covered by HPA / Lease / Hypothecation.
7. Pollution Under Control Certificate
8. Payment of green tax wherever applicable.
9. Two recent Passport size photograph of the owner
10. Photograph of Parking(with shed)
11. Parking area Certificate issued by any gazetted officer/Police Officer/Revenue authority of the area.
12. No objection certificate of the tenant if vehicle is intended to be parked on the land of the tenant other than the vehicle owner.
13. Recent copy of Form-F of the land housing the parking facility.
14. Photograph of parking place of vehicle depicting the parked vehicle along with number plate in front and rear view.
15. Aadhaar Card

For Renewal :

1. Application forms can be obtained from following link : Form
2. Registration Certificate of the vehicle.
3. Fitness Certificate.
4. Proof of payment of tax for the current Quarter.
5. Insurance Certificate.
6. No object certificate from the financier if the vehicle concerned is covered by HPA / Lease / Hypothecation.

9. Route permit Book, all in original.
10. Parking area certificate issued by any gazetted officer/Police Officer/Revenue authority of the area.
11. Recent copy of Map along with Form-F of the Land housing the parking facility.
12. No objection certificate of the tenant if vehicle is intended to be parked on the land of tenant other than the vehicle owner.

Contract Carriage Permit is valid for 5 years and issued for whole State of Himachal Pradesh.

Particular Contract Carriage Permit is the most common type of permit. The permit grants the holder the right to operate under a contract with his client for a specific destination. He cannot pick passengers other than those mentioned in the permit.

1. This permit does not entitle the holder to use the vehicle herein described as a stage carriage or as a goods carriage.
2. FC (for clearance) is a process meant for reviewing the condition of the vehicle by the RTO authorities
