Residents of Himachal Pradesh could get a new Drainage or Sewer connection through the following procedure.

Apply In-Person

1. To apply for a drainage or sewer connection, one has to visit the concerned Public Health Department divisional or sub divisional office in your area.
2. To view the Municipality office locations, select your district and from the given link and select Directory > Public Utility > Municipalities HP Districts
3. Before applying, please consult with the concerned authority regarding all the requirements necessary for getting a new drainage connection.
4. Procure the application form for sewerage connection by paying the required fee.
5. The application form could also be downloaded from the link by selecting the forms under “Irrigation and Public Health Department” or “Urban Development Department” Application Form
6. In the procured application form, fill all the required details.
7. Attach the photocopy of all the required documents with the application form.
8. Submit the documents at the respective PHD Office and receive the acknowledgement receipt.
9. The documents will be verified and if the application is eligible, the applicant will be notified to pay the charges. Rejected applications will be returned to the applicant with intimation.
10. Pay the service charges as instructed and register your connection and receive the acknowledgement receipt.
11. Obtain permission for road cutting from the respective department if required.
12. Your application will now be forwarded to the concerned area officer for sanction.
13. Site inspections will be made by the authority officers and any correction regarding the application will be notified to the applicant.
14. After all the requirements and changes have been met by the applicant, the work order will be issued for the connection.

1. To apply online for a drainage or sewer connection, visit the Apply Online
2. From the given link select “Application for Sewerage Connection” from the services displayed.
3. In the refreshed page, read all the given instructions select "Login to Apply”.To Login and apply for your new connection you could follow any one of the login method from below:
4. Select “New User/Guest User”. Enter your Name, Mobile No., Email Id, captcha and click “Submit”.
5. If you are a registered user, select “Registered User” and enter the credentials or register aa new account by selecting, “New Registration” and fill your details to create a new user account and login with your credentials.
6. After successful login, read the instructions and select “Proceed”.
7. Fill all the required details in the displayed application form.
8. Upload the scanned copies of all the required documents.
9. Check for any corrections to be made before submitting the form. Submitted forms cannot be altered.
10. Pay the required processing fee for which you will receive the online receipt.
11. After successful submission of your application, you will receive the acknowledgement message through sms or e-mail.
12. You could check the status of your application anytime by selecting “My Submitted Application” option on the left side of the page, once you are logged in to your account.
13. Your application will be further and necessary site inspections will be made with intimation.
14. Please keep the required documents ready during site inspection.
15. After all the requirements and changes have been met by the applicant, the connection will be provided.

• Certificate signed by Tehsildar regarding existence of building prior to 1979

• Building Drawing Showing WC’s Details
• Site Plan Prepared by MC Registered Plumber
• NOC of owner in shape of affidavit
• Address proof and Id proof of the applicant from the following:
