The owner of a dog must be 18 years of age or older.
For applications to be sent by post: Make the check payable to - "City & County of Honolulu"
Licenses expire on December 31 of every second year and must be renewed before March 10 following the expiration date.

The City & County of Honolulu law requires that all dogs, four months or older, must have and should wear a county-issued license tag. This identifies you as the legal owner.
A tag can be purchased at any Satellite City Hall or at Hawaiian Humane Society.

For you to be declared as the rightful and legal owner of your dog, it is best that you have it registered.
Upon registration, a collar tag is attached to your pet. Through this, it is very easy for you and your pet to reunite once its accidentally got lost.
Please explain what are other uses of obtaining this document/certificate. e.g. Birth Certificate can be used as proof of identity.
