- To apply for a change of address in vehicle registration certificate in Gujarat the applicant has to approach the RTO office to which your area belongs to.

- Make sure you have completed application form 33. Application forms can be obtained from the following link : Form 33
- Also make sure you have all the necessary documents to process the application.
- Application forms can also be obtained from the appropriate RTO offices.
- Present the completed application forms in one of the RTO counter and pay the appropriate fee where the officials would start processing your application.
Apply Online - Gujarat Obtain Change in Address for Vehicles Online with Images
- To change address for vehicles, the applicant has to visit the official portal of the Ministry of Road Transport & Highways: Link to Portal
- In the homepage, please scroll down to “Informational Services” and click on the “more” button in the “Citizen Guide” tab.
- The applicant will be taken to the “Manual” page where all the available services will be listed.
- Please click on the name of the required service and click on “Step by Step procedure” from the drop down menu.
- The applicant will be taken to a new PDF page where the process for applying will be explained clearly.
- Please follow the steps to complete the application.
Required Documents

- Intimation of change in address in Form-33 in Duplicate (in Triplicate if it is covered by HP
- Registration Certificate
- Insurance Certificate
- Proof of address (any one of the following):
- Ration Card / Voter ID / LIC Policy / Passport size photo / Pay slip from Govt
- Birth Certificate
- Aadhaar card
- Affidavit sworn by the applicant before an Executive or First Class Judicial Magistrate or Notary public.
- No objection certificate from the Financier, if the vehicle with Hire Purchase
- Valid Tax paid proof
- Valid Pollution under Control Certificate

Eligibility
- Owner of the vehicle can apply for change of address in the Registration Certificate.

Validity
- The usual validity of the RC is unaffected for the change in address
- In case of non-transport vehicles like two wheelers and cars, the registration certificate is valid for 15 years from the date of first registration, and it is renewed after every five subsequent years.
- In case of transport vehicles like goods and passenger carriers the registration certificate is valid till certificate of fitness is valid.

Instructions
Every owner of Motor Vehicle shall cause the Vehicle to be Registered by a Registration Authority in whose Jurisdiction he has residence or place of business where the vehicle is normally kept.
Required Information
A list which displays the kind of information which is required to complete the procedure.
e.g.
1. Date of Birth.
2. City or County of Birth.
Need for the Document
- If a registered owner of a vehicle shifts his address as recorded in the Registration Certificate, he must apply for recording of the new address, after obtaining a N.O.C from the previous registering authority.
- In cases where such change of address is from one state to another, then the registration number will have to be changed to a local registration number.
- Vehicle registration's purpose is to establish clear ownership and to tax motorist or vehicle owners.
- Change of address of the owner need to be carried out to intimate through his records (registration certificate) for the Authorities to communicate all grievances as and when required.
- Without change of address the owner may be unaware of the intimations from government officials.
- Hence one needs to change the address in his RC
- Vehicle registration certificate should be produced while the traffic officials intervene – So, one should carry RC with them while driving.
- One should not buy a vehicle without a valid RC.
