Gujarat - Apply for Temporary Residence Certificate (TRC)


Procedure

Apply In-Person:

  1. To apply for temporary residence certificate, applicant has to approach the revenue department authorities or tehsildar office.
  2. Link for municipal office contacts: link
  3. Go to the respective office.
  4. Collect the application form or write on a plain A4 sheet as advised.
  5. Complete the application form. Attach the entire required documents as per our “required document” section and submit it to the designated authority.
  6. After the application form is processed, an enquiry officer will make a thorough verification regarding your proof which you have submitted along with the form.
  7. Collect the acknowledgment slip for submitting the form. Keep it safe for future reference.
  8. Use acknowledgment slip to obtain certificate as per the department notification.



Apply Online

  1. The applicant needs to visit the official portal of Government of Gujarat using following link.

  1. The applicant needs to click on the “Login” on the upper right-hand corner of that page.
  2. The applicant will be taken to the registration page.
  3. The applicant needs to click on “New Registration (Citizen)”.
  4. The applicant needs to correctly specify all the required details and click on “Save” button.
  5. The applicant will receive an OTP via SMS on the mobile number which was specified at registration. The applicant needs to provide the OTP and click on the “Confirm” and complete registration
  6. The applicant will receive your login and password details via email/SMS which can be used while login.
  7. After successful Registration, the applicant must click on “Revenue” menu present on home page, then choose the “Temporary Residence” certificate.
  8. In the new page, applicant need to click on “apply online” button and fill in the application form online.
  9. After completing the application form in the new page, the applicant needs to click on “submit” button below.

  • Residence proof like gas bill, EB bill, Bank passbook etc
  • Driving license
  • Photo proof like passport
  • Appointment Order/Transfer Order/Govt. Identity Card
  • Copy of 2 recent passport size photograph
  • Attested copy of birth certificate.
  • Attested copy of education certificate
  • Attested copy of voter ID
  • Attested copy of Inner line permit (This document is required in some states as per local government norms)
  • Attested copy of trading license as per requirement
  • Govt. Identity Card /Trading License of Guardian
  • Trading/establishment of guardian.
  • Certificate stating evidence of guardianship

Eligibility

  • Applicant with a valid residence certificate from other state can apply for temporary residence certificate in the state where they are working/doing business.
  • Applicant must be the citizen of India.

Temporary certificate is valid for 1 year (it can be issued for a maximum of 2 years)

  • Do not submit fake documents as a proof to obtain this certificate.
  • Applying for residential certificate in another state is an offence.

  • Tahsildar / Naib Tahsildar
  • District Magistrate
  • Sub Divisional Magistrate
  • Sub Divisional Officer
  • Revenue department authorities
