Guatemala - Register a Death


Procedure

  1. Obtain all necessary documents.
  2. Submit requirements to the proper authority.





Required Documents

Local Deaths

  • Medical report of death in original and photocopy
  • DPI, Neighbourhood Certificate or passport of the deceased original and photocopy
  • DPI, the respondent Neighbourhood Certificate in original and photocopy
  • Birth certificate of the minor in original and photocopy
  • If DPI of the deceased person or the vicinity card was stolen have to submit certificate of DPI in its case or seat of neighborhood identity certification


Late Registration of Death

  • Neighbourhood or DPI Certificate of the deceased, in original and photocopy
  • Certified Birth certificate of the deceased
  • Final Resolution Certification of Notary or Judicial Resolution
  • Opinion of the Attorney General's Office
  • If DPI of the deceased person or the vicinity card was stolen have to submit certificate of DPI in its case or seat of neighborhood identity certification


Consular Death Registration by a notary

  • Testimony of the Deed with duplicate death certificate Protocolacin outside with his passing Bill.


Consular Death Registration (Direct)

  • Form submitted by the Consular Services of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs


Registration of Deaths in National Hospitals

For RENAP offices at National Hospitals
  • Report of Death
  • DPI or Certificate of the Deceased in Original and photocopy
  • Interested DPI or Certificate of Original and photocopy

  • 30 Working days to complete the registration (once the Police and the Public health office release the body)
