The Certificado de Antecedentes Policacos is issued by the six Comisaras de la Polica Nacional Civil, located in the capital city. You must present in person the original and a legible photocopy of your Cdula de Vecindad, and pay the applicable fees. Foreign residents must, in addition, present the original and a legible photocopy of their passport and take the certificate to the Legal Bureau of the Civil National Police Headquarters in Guatemala City for legalization (6a. Ave. 14 Calle zona 1). You should apply to one of the following Comisaras de la Polica Nacional Civil:
The Constancia de Carencia de Antecedentes Penales may be obtained from the Bureau of Criminal Background (Unidad de Antecedentes Penales) of the Supreme Court of Justice. There is an office located in the capital city (see below) and in the majority of departments of the country. Nationals and residents of Guatemala must present their original Cdula de Vecindad. Foreigners must present their valid passport showing their legal status in the country. If You are unable to personally request this certificate, the document may be requested by a lawyer who has been authorized by the applicant. The lawyer must submit the applicants original identification document.
A police certificate is an official document issued by police or government agency of a country to enumerate any criminal records that the applicant may or may not have. Criminal records may include arrest, conviction, and possibly criminal proceedings.
A police clearance certificate is a copy of your criminal record or a declaration of the absence of any criminal record. Police clearance certificates are different in each country and territory and may be called police certificates, good conduct certificates, judicial record extracts, pcc, etc. They are issued by police authorities or government departments and used by Citizenship and Immigration to prevent individuals who possess a risk to Country's security from entering the country.

In many immigration cases you may be requested by relevant Government to present Police Clearance Certificate from another country where you have resided for some time. If you are going through immigration process, you will definitely be asked for such a certificate.
Police clearance certificate is an official document issued by the police in a country, certifying the criminal record or otherwise of the applicant. Ideally, every adult who has been a resident in any country for six months and over requires a police clearance certificate from that country when applying for visa or immigration services.
It is the applicants responsibility to contact the relevant authorities to obtain the necessary police certificates or clearances. Each countrys procedures are different. Applicants may have to apply to more than one level of government or more than one agency - municipal, provincial, state, federal and the police, courts or similar governmental agencies for the police certificate. If a police certificate cannot be obtained from any of the countries on the list, provide a written explanation why and an original letter from the police authority confirming that it will not issue a certificate.
Sometimes people who intend to work abroad or in highly sensitive establishments also require reports of good behavior, especially from the police, before they are allowed to work.
