Guadeloupe - Apply for National Identity Card (Adult)


Procedure

  1. To apply for an ID card visit your local town hall. If you live in Paris you may go to a police branch of your choice. To those who are living abroad, apply for a National Identity Card at the Embassy or Consulate. Applications must be submitted in person.
  2. The application form is available at the counter. Make sure to fill in the form correctly and do not forget to sign the form.
  3. The documents you will be required to submit will depend on your situation. Note: You may also need to set up an appointment in order to submit your application.

Supporting documents must be submitted if you have changed your name and it is not yet reflected on any of your identification documents.

Note: Documents to be submitted will be according to the nature of this second name: name of spouse or name of the other parent.

Processing Time

The identity card is not manufactured on site and therefore it can not be issued immediately. The amount of time for an identity card to be issued depends on where and when was the application submitted. For example, processing time for requests submitted before summer vacation may be longer.


Monitoring your application:

If you have provided your mobile number on the form, you will receive notification via SMS informing you that you may now collect your identity card. Note: This service is not available for applications submitted in Paris or overseas.
