Apply In-Person:

1. To Sub Dividing of Land in Ghana, the applicant has to approach the Land Commission office. Contact link
2. A plan should be drafted showing the plots or area that is to be divided.
3. Information related to the LC office and the License authority can be obtained from the “Office locations and contacts” section of this page.
4. Then, the applicant must obtain the application form from the Landcommission office.
5. Applicant has to enter all the information in the application form.
6. The applicant has to make sure that he or she has all the required documents that are required for this process to be successful and they can be found under the "Required Documents" section of this page.
7. Applicant should attach photocopies of documents (whichever is necessary) along with the applicant form while submitting it at the office.
8. Payment of appropriate fees should be made and that can be found under the "Fees" section of this page.
9. A completed application form submits to the land commission office.
10. On the receipt of the application the concerned official shall check the application and if the application meets requirement the official concerned shall register the application in the register concerned (or electronically through a PC) and put up the same before the authority for appropriate order.
11. Concerned authority may pass order on the same day or on the next working day, directing the Revenue Inspector or other revenue officer to sub-divide after fixing a date and serving the notice in respect thereof to all the tenure holders concerned.
12. This work shall be completed within a period of three months from the date of order passed by respective authority.
13. At the time of demarcation of the plot the spot memo shall be prepared by the Revenue Inspector or other revenue officer and the same shall be signed by all the parties concerned and by the Chairman of the Land Management Committee or any two independent witnesses present at the time of the sub-divide.
14. If any party refuses to sign the spot memo, the endorsement to the effect shall be made by the LC office and the further process will be taken as per case to case.
15. The Revenue Inspector or other concerned officer shall submit his report of sub-divide with spot memo within a period of fifteen days from the date of dividing.
16. The processing time for this procedure takes 3 months.

• Applicants are eligible to apply for sub-division of land if the applicants own a land in his/her name.

• Authorities will provide fee information.
• Fee differs with the place of the land.

• Sub-division is valid for the land till it is further subdivided or divided for the purpose of sale / for the purpose of partition.
