Apply In-Person:

1. Applicant who wish to renew fishing license or permit must apply for the fishing license with the Ministry of Fisheries and Aquaculture Development.

3. The applicant must fill up the application form as directed and submit it to the concerned authorities. Here is the link to the license for fishing in the sea.
4. The applicant has to make sure he or she has all the required documents that are required for this process to be successful and they can be found under the "Required Documents" section of this page.
5. Payment of appropriate fees should be made and that can be found under the "Fees" section of this page.
6. The applicant must provide all the required documents to the authorities for validation and also pay the requisite application fees.
7. Submit the completed application form and pay the required application fee and submit the receipt as proof of payment.
8. Officers from the commissioner’s office will carry out inspections on the craft, fishing gear and other equipment to ensure that they comply with the required standards.
9. If everything is in order they will continue to process the applicant application. After processing, the applicant will be issued with the renewed Fishing Permit.
10. A license or permit for fishing will be granted within 2 days.

Renewal fees: GHS.500/=

• The certificate is valid for one year.
• The certificate will remain valid up to the date stated therein or where no such date is specified up to 31st December of the year in which it is issued
