Apply In-Person

1. To Renew Private Practice License in Ghana, the applicant must go to the Ghana Medical and Dental Council or Ministry of Health (MOH).

3. Visit the office and obtain the application forms to be completed for renewal of Private Practice License, from the relevant department.
4. Complete the forms with appropriate information under relevant sections. Attest the forms with the applicant signature once completed.
5. The interested applicants, who wish to be registered and certified, must submit an application Form for accreditation, as well as all the relevant documentation to the office.
6. Once completed filling the application form, make sure that the applicant attached all the documents listed in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
7. Payment of appropriate fees should be made and that can be found under the "Fees" section of this page.
8. Then, submit it in person to the relevant authority at the office. Make the stipulated payment as directed by the officials.
9. The office will forward the applications to the Accreditation and certification Committee for processing.
10. The Accreditation and Certification Committee will review and use the set criteria for assessment of applications.
11. The results of the applicants to provide certificate will be sent to the Ghana MOH office for final approval.
12. Collect his/her renewal License from where the applicant application was submitted within 14 days from the date the application was received at Ghana MOH office in case there is no rejection.
13. The processing time for this procedure takes 2 weeks.

• Original certificate or professional ID with photocopy of the certificate for all qualifications.

Renewal Fee:

• Specialists - 200,000 GHS
• Generalists -100,000 GHS

• Validity for this license is 1 year.

• Doctors and dentists aspiring to practice in Ghana must comply with the statutory requirements for registration and licensing. Failure to obtain the necessary documentations constitutes an offence under section 22 of the Medical Practitioners and Dentists Act.
