Apply In-Person:

1. Application for Renew Coffees Dealer License is done in person by visiting the Agriculture and Food Authority Board Head Offices in Ghana. contact link
2. Application form should obtain from the respective office.
3. Fill in the required information properly and indicating it’s a renewal registration application. Attach the required documents to the application before submitting. A list of the required documents can be found in the “Required Documents” Section of this page.
4. Payment of appropriate fees should be made and that can be found under the "Fees" section of this page.
5. Submit the completed application form and pay the required application fee and submit the receipt as a proof of payment.
6. This is followed by an inspection of applicants by the Board Field Officers.
7. The Board field officers will make recommendations for renewal of the license and forward their report forwarded to Board’s Headquarters for the ultimate Board approval.
8. Upon a successful approval by the board a list of approved/ renewed coffee dealers is published in the Kenya gazette.
9. At this point the applicant is notified and he/she will be required to pay the respective license fees as prescribed by the board and submit the receipt as a proof of payment.
10. Once the license renewal processing is done the Renewed Coffee Dealer License is issued to the applicant by the Managing Director of the Agriculture and Food Authority.
11. This process takes a maximum of 30 days.

• Copy of current Coffee dealer’s license.
• Names of company directors, individual National ID/Passport No, Pin Numbers and certificate of good conduct.
• Names and addresses of two business referees.
• Tax compliance certificate from Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) for the Company and Directors.
• Clearance letter from the Nairobi Coffee Exchange (NCE).
• Compliance with Statutory requirements, including but not limited to NEMA certificate (where applicable) Safety & Occupational Health Certificate (where applicable) and Local Authority Business Permit.
• A valid performance bond of GHS. 1,000,000 in favor of Coffee Directorate of Kenya.
• Proof of engaging the services of a coffee liquored registered by the Directorate.
• Undertaking to furnish the Directorate with monthly returns.
• Audited book if accounts and returns of the current year.
• Any other requirements that may be prescribed by the Directorate from time to time.
• If applicant is a registered business, the certificate of registration and particulars of the proprietors.

• This form shall be accompanied by the prescribed fees and submitted to the County government.
• The application shall reach the Authority within 30 days of approval by the county government.

• A Coffee Dealers License is a license authorizing the holder to buy or deal in clean coffee produced in Ghana or to import clean coffee from outside Kenya and to process in Ghana for sale or export coffee to any country of origin and deal in roasting, blending and packaging coffee for local sale or export.

• This Certificate is Valid for 1 year from date of issue.
• Coffee licenses in the coffee industry expire by the 30th of June of every year and license holders apply to the Board for renewal one month prior to the expiry.
• New license applicants apply any time within the financial year for consideration and licensing.
• Applicants can deliver or send hard copies of the application to the Coffee Directorate offices countrywide. Details of the various offices can found in the “Office Locations & Contacts” section of this page.
