Apply In-Person:

1. Application for renewal registration of a Coconut Nursery is done in person by visiting the Agriculture and Food Authority Board Head Offices in Ghana. contact link
2. Application form should obtain from the respective office.
3. Fill in the required information properly and indicating it’s a renewal registration application. Attach the required documents to the application before submitting. A list of the required documents can be found in the “Required Documents” Section of this page.
4. Payment of appropriate fees should be made and that can be found under the "Fees" section of this page.
5. Submit the completed application form and pay the required application fee and submit the receipt as a proof of payment.
6. This is followed by an inspection of applicants by the Board field Officers.
7. Recommendations based in findings of the investigation will be made to the Tea directorate’s Board Headquarters for final approval by the Board approval.
8. After investigations the board’s field offices will submit their findings to the county Nuts and oil crops working group.
9. The Nuts and oil crops working group will make recommendations on the application and forward their report to Board Headquarters for the final Board approval.
10. Upon a successful renewal approval the Coconut Nursery Certificate applicant is notified and he/she will be required to pay a renewal registration fee to the board and submit the receipt as a proof of payment. The renewal registration fee is based on the turnover of crop expected. This will be communicated by the board’s officers.
11. Once the renewal registration processing is done the renewed Coconut Nursery Certificates is posted to field offices for collection by the applicant.
12. This process takes a maximum of 30 days.

• returns of coconut seedlings with in the previous year
• Identification Cards/ Passport and PIN Number of the applicant
• Proof of Reliable source of clean water
• Proof accessibility of nursery site for inspection and materials transportation
• Any other requirements that may be prescribed by the Authority from time to time

• Any person, cooperative society, group or company wishing to start a horticultural crop nursery can apply for the renewed coconut nursery certificate.

• Application fees is GHS 250 (Non-refundable)
• Registration Certificate fees- GHS.2000

• The registration is valid for a period of one year.

• Renew application for registration should be sent to the County where the nursery/mother block is located.
• This form shall be accompanied by the prescribed fees and submitted to the County government.
• The application shall reach the Authority within 30 days of approval by the county government.

• A coconut nursery certificate authorizes the holder to operate a coconut nursery.
• This is a certificate issued to a grower who want to raise coconut planting materials (seedlings) for own planting or for sale for commercial gain. Therefore dealers needs to renew their certificates to continue with operations

• This Certificate is Valid for 1 year from date of issue.
• This Certificate is not Transferable to any other person, or nursery site.
• All Certified planting materials which are not distributed during the certification’s period will be subject to re-inspection.
• To establish or operate a horticultural crop nursery or a mother block in any area, that crop nursery or mother block must be registered by the directorate through an application made in the prescribed form and accompanied by a non-refundable fee.
