Apply In-Person:

1. To Renew Clinical Officer Private Practice License in Ghana, the applicant has to approach the Traditional Medicine Practice Council (TMPC) Ghana contact link or Ghana Medical and Dental council or Pharmacy Council Ghana, Headquarters link
2. The application must be completed in full and be submitted to the Registration and Licensing Department of the Clinical Officers Council before the expiry of a practicing license (every 2 years)
3. This process should be the first step for an easier renewal procedure. Make payments of renewal fees to the Clinical Officers Council (COC) accounts.
4. Payment of appropriate fees should be made and that can be found under the "Fees" section of this page.
5. Visit the Registration and Licensing Department of the Clinical Officers Council offices to make the application.
6. Applicant has to enter all the information in the application form.
7. Please make sure that the applicant has all the documents that are listed down the '’Required Documents on this page.
8. The completed application form should be submitted with the required documents.
9. The submitted renewal application will be reviewed for reconsideration.
10. Upon successful review, the applicant will be awarded with a new practising license. This usually takes a period of 60 days.
11. The applicant will be notified to collect his practising license via text or phone call.
12. One is required to bring a proof of identification when collecting the documents.
13. If all the documents and information are satisfied, the authorities will be issued the registration certificate to the applicant.

Part time:

• Application form

• Two colour passport-size photographs
• Attach a letter of no objection from the immediate supervisor
• Committee sits quarterly to deliberate and makes decisions
• Feedback is given to the applicant on the decision
• Applicant required to submit original inspection report from county/ sub-county
• Proof of necessary fees payment

Full-time (general practice)

• Application to the registrar
• copies of termination of service (either by resignation, retirement, or end of the contract
• clearance certificate from immediate former employment
• Committee sits quarterly to deliberate and makes decisions
• Feedback is given to the applicant of the decision
• Applicant required to submit original inspection report from the county

• Clinical officers in private practice renew their private practicing licenses annually. The renewal of the practicing license takes in to consideration CPD points and observation of professional standards and ethics.
