Apply In-Person:

1. To Renew Airline Transport Pilot License (ATPL) in Ghana, the applicant has to contact the nearest Civil Aviation Authority Office in Ghana.

3. Application form should obtain from the respective office.
4. Also, make sure that the applicant has all the documents listed in the “Required documents” section of this page.
5. Payment of appropriate fees should be made and that can be found under the "Fees" section of this page.
6. Submit the completed application form and pay the required application fee and submit the receipt as a proof of payment.
7. The receiving officers will check for discrepancies or ineligibility in the application documents. If a discrepancy that cannot be immediately corrected exists in any of the documents, the application and all the submitted documents will be returned to the applicant and should not be re-submitted until the discrepancy has been rectified/ corrected.
8. If the receiving officers is satisfied that all the requirements have been met for the renewal of a license and the prescribed application form has been completed and presented in the Personnel Licensing (PEL) Office, the applicant will be advised to pay the prescribed renewal application fees, after which the license will be issued.
9. A renewal processing 7 days is needed to complete the processing of the Airline Transport Pilot License application, after which the applicant will be contacted through a phone call to collect his/her new license at the GCAA’s Personnel Licensing offices.
10. Applicant will be required to carry his/her identification documents when collecting his/her renewed license.

• A properly completed prescribed Application Form i.e. ’’Application for renewal of an Air Traffic Controllers License Form.
• A current Class 3 medical certificate
• Hold a current Class 3 Medical Certificate.
• An air traffic controllers license for the endorsement
• Be in possession of results of a Rating Board – for a new rating
• A photo identification card or Passport
• Copy of former/ expired license.
• Payment receipt of the prescribed fees

The applicant should:

• Complete the prescribed renewal application form.

• Wait for evaluation and inspection by the Authority.
• Wait for the processing period to elapse then collect the applicant’s renewed License.

• An Airline Transport Pilot License (ATPL) is the highest level of aircraft pilot certificate. Those certified as airline transport pilots (unconditional) are authorized to act as pilot in command on scheduled air carriers' aircraft.

• Present a photo Identification Card or a Passport as a form of identification, details of which should be the same as the personal information provided on the prescribed application form and if the applicant’s identity cannot be verified, the application will be rejected, and the applicant will have to return with the proper identification.

• This license is one of the requirements needed when applying for a Multi-crew Pilot Licence.
