Ghana - Registration of Technology Transfer Agreement (Ghana Investment Promotion Centre)

How to Apply:
In-Person Application:

  1. Obtain the Registration of Technology Transfer Agreements (TTAs)application form from anyGhana Investment Promotion Centre (GIPC)Regional and District Offices or the Head office in Accra or visit the GIPC website to download websiteor click the link below to download (application form)
  2. Read carefully through the application form, as it contain different section and fill it accurately.
  3. The completed forms should be submitted in duplicate (2 copies) along with the required documents at the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre (GIPC) Regional Offices or the Head office.
  4. Pay the required application fees at the Reception of GIPC or at the Conference Venue or at a designated bank, upon which you will be issued with a receipt.
  5. Upon receiving your application the, GIPC will verify and process your application, and if the register or authorized official is satisfied that all the documents are in order.
  6. You should contact the centre regularly to know the progress of your application, if approved you will be issued with the certificate of technology transfer agreement and given further instruction.

  • Certified true copy (by the Registrar-General's Department) of Certificate of Incorporation
  • Three original/certified true copies (by a Notary Public) of the agreement to be registered
  • A detailed training schedule
  • A yearly forecast of fees payable to the transferor per annum for the duration of the Agreement
  • Certified true Copy (by the Registrar-General's Department or a Notary Public) of Industrial property registration(s) if applicable.
  • Certified Audited Financial Statements for the five (5) most recent years of Transferee company
  • Certified true copy (by the Registrar-General's Department) of Company Regulations

  • Locally registered foreign company and their parent/external company or a Ghanaian company and a foreign company

Fees

  • Application fees (non-refundable) and bank details (please consult with the centre)
  • Payment can be made now at the Reception of GIPC or at the Conference Venue

Note: The forecast of fees must be for the entire duration of the Agreement (Minimum 18 months Maximum 10 years)

  • Validity is based on the duration of the agreement (Minimum 18 months Maximum 10 years)

Need for the Document

  • local entities (referred to transferee)going into technology transfer agreements or management services agreements with foreign entities (referred to as the transferor) for the use of their technologies and services in Ghana are required to register with the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre (GIPC) of such agreement, in relation to Foreign Exchange Act, 2006 (Act 723) and GIPC ACT 2013, ACT 865.
