Apply via Agent
Apply In-Person:
- To Registration and Control of Pesticides (Insecticide) in Ghana, the applicant must go to the Environmental Protection Agency(EPA) in Ghana contact link
- Then, the applicants can get their application form.
- Read through the application form carefully as it contains different section.
- Make sure that he/she has all the documents listed in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
- Please refer to the fees details in the “Fees” section of this page. The applicant will be issued with the prescribed fee invoice, visit any ECOBANK branch near you with the invoice and make the payment.
- Submit the completed forms along with the supporting documents at the EPA office for verification and processing.
- The EPA will dispatch an inspector to the facility premises for inspection to determine if Good Distribution Practice (GDP) and Good Storage Practice (GSP) during the storage and dispatch of the product that quality control, and quality assurance of the products in practise.
- A copy of the report finding will be given to the applicant and if any modification or upgrading is required, Corrective Action and Preventive Action Report (CAPA) report will be issued and the applicant will be required to rectify the problem.
- Upon successful implementation of the CAPA, a follow-up inspection may be conducted by the inspection team to ascertain the effectiveness of the implementation (where applicable).
- If the authorized official is satisfied that all the conditions are met as required for the application, the applicant will be notified of the outcome and issued the certificate.
- The processing time for this procedure is 1 month.

- All agencies dealing in insecticides and pesticide activities in Ghana are eligible.
Fees
- Introductory fee of GHS 10,000 to obtain an experimental permit.
- Supermarkets (Domestic Class Pesticides) GHS.2000.
- General Wholesalers (Domestic Class Pesticides) GHS.2000.
- Pest Control Operators GHS.2000.
- Re-packing GHS.5000.
- new products permit costs $115.80 (GHS 10, 000),
- A certificate of registration will cost the applicant $347.40 (GHS 30, 000)
- while a renewal certificate of registration not exceeding two years costs $231.60 (GHS 20, 000
Validity
- Valid for 3 years and renewal is done every 2 years.

Instructions
- All fees charged are payable at any ECOBANK Ghana Branch by presenting the invoice issued by the Agency to the bank.
- When submitting any supporting documents, please label the documents as indicated in this part. (e.g. Attachment A, etc.)
- If the space provided on the application form is not sufficient, the additional information required may be provided on a separate document and attached.

- Full legal name of the applicant/company/business

- Address (physical location) of the premise to be licensed.
- Number of employees
- Full name, address, age and qualification of persons who will be in personal control of premises to be licensed.
- The importation and manufacturing of pest control products.
- Information on the usage of Pesticide and insecticide products
- The expiry date of the Pesticide and insecticide products
- The information concerning the Pesticide or insecticide manufacturer.
- The Comprehensive service on the medical device that results in successful registration.
Need for the Document
- No person shall use any premises, or being the owner or occupier thereof permit or allow the premises to be used, for the purposes of manufacturing, formulating, packaging, selling, or storing, pest control products unless that person is in possession of a registration certificate issued under the Regulations in respect of those premises.
- EPA Act, 1994, Act 490 and the Pesticides Control and Management Act, 1996, (Act 528), and the regulations there under.
