Apply In-Person:
- To Permit (License) to Hunt on a Private Land in Ghana, the applicant must go to the Ministry of the Interior, Ghana contact link
- The applicant can collect the application Form from the office of the Ministry of the Interior.
- Fill the forms with the right information to facilitate the process.
- Applicant must have a landowner signature on a dated consent form before he/she purchases his/her license and permits, but he/she must purchase all required licenses and permits before he/she hunts on the private Land.
- Properties must be at least 10 acres in size for rifle or revolver use to be authorized.
- Landowners must designate calendar year, seasons, and choice of hunting implements.
- Where baiting of deer is permitted, it is strongly recommended that individuals consult with landowners prior to placing bait.
- Fill in all the necessary details in the application and submit with supporting documents as mentioned in the “Required Documents” section, with corresponding fees to the.
- Payment of appropriate fees should be made and that can be found under the "Fees" section of this page.
- The Commission will review the application and all submitted documents. This process takes averagely 2 to 3 months. Once the applicant meets all the requirements, the Commission will issue an invoice for the license fee to be paid. After payment is done, the Commission will proceed to issue the license accordingly.
- The process takes two to three months. This is usually the case when applicants present all the documents the right way.
- If an application is rejected, the license fee shall be non-refunded back to the applicant.
- On scrutinizing the application if the issuing officer is satisfied he shall grant the license to the applicant.
Required Documents
Private land Animal hunters must carry the following forms below,
- Application Form
- A Copy of national passport.
- Two recent colored passport size photos.
- Copy of any previous permit(s) and or pass (es) held.
- Proof of land ownership/leasehold.
- Clearance/license from relevant bodies.
- Copy of PIN certificate.
- Tax compliance certificate from GRA(for renewals).

Instructions
- The registration fee is non-refundable.
- Incomplete applications will not be accepted.
- The applicant must be present in person when the application is presented at the immigration headquarters or regional offices for registration.
- Giving false or misleading information is an offence punishable by law.

Need for the Document
- The future of hunting depends on the ability of hunters to gain access to the land. With more than half of the state’s landmass in private ownership, the Ghana MINT Department has redoubled its efforts to secure hunter access to Private lands in recent years. Hunting on private land in Ghana is restricted, Hunters are required to acquire a permit to hunt on private land because it is unlawful to hunt on private property without the permission of the landowner and MINT.
