Information which might help

[edit]

In Ghana, Police Clearance Report is issued by the Criminal Data Services Bureau (CDSB) of the Police Criminal Investigations Department (CID). The unit records and keeps data on all criminals in the country. Aside this, the bureau vets all manner of persons residing in and outside the country.
Three types of vetting are carried out by this bureau.

  • Vetting people who wish to travel or obtain visa,
  • Vetting new employees and
  • Vetting people who have applied to possess firearms.

Other uses of the Document/Certificate

[edit]

  1. This clearance is needed by those who want to change country of residence.
  2. You may also need to upload a Police clearance certificate if you are to proceed on a post graduate programme in foreign institutions.
  3. Even as a tourist to another country, you will need police clearance certificate to show that you don’t have outstanding criminal record back home, and ensure that you won’t be a threat to your host country.
