Apply In-Person

1. To Obtain Suitability Certificate to Operate a Pharmacy in Ghana, the applicant must go to the Ghana Medical and Dental council or Pharmacy Council Ghana, Headquarters contact link
2. Applicant must obtain the application form from the relevant department.
3. Applicant has to enter all the information in the application form.
4. The applicant has to make sure that he or she has all the required documents that are required for this process to be successful and they can be found under the "Required Documents" section of this page.
5. Payment of appropriate fees should be made and that can be found under the "Fees" section of this page.
6. Submit the completed form in two copies along with the supporting documents to the respective office.
7. This application will be processed and the information will be verified by the MDC.
8. If the verification is successful, the notification will be sent to the applicant.
9. After the notified period, the applicant gets certificate as per applicable delivery norms.
10. The Processing time for this procedure is 2 days.

• Evidence of payment of prescribed fees.
• Memorandum and articles of association in case of a body corporate and partnership deed in case of partnership.
• Evidence that one of the directors in the company is a pharmacist.
• A Sketch plan of the premises taking into place the consideration the minimum floor area for wholesale, retail and additional storage area.
• Certified copy of the certificate of registration of the supervising pharmacist.
• Commitment letters from the supervising pharmacist and professional auxiliary staff.
• Certificate copy of a valid certificate of registration/enrolment with the relevant professional body for the professional auxiliary.
• For wholesale/retail pharmacy (veterinary) a copy of certificate of the qualified veterinary profession.
• Any other document asked by state pharmacy council
