Ghana - Obtain Facility and Support Services from NITA


Procedure

Apply In-Person:

  1. To Apply for Facility and Support Services from NITA in person, the applicant has to approach the Ghana National Information Technology Agency. - Contact link
  2. Once the applicant obtains the application form, the form should be completed clearly with all the required details provided.
  3. Then the applicant should obtain all the required supporting documents and attach both the original copies and duplicates of the documents to the completed application form in a single file.
  4. The applicant should then pay the required non-refundable application fee of GHS.12,000 and obtain the payment receipt.
  5. Upon making the payment, the applicant should submit the complete application file along with the application fee payment receipt to the NITA office at the registration service desk.
  6. After applying, NITA will verify and certify the copies of the supporting documents as true copies of the original documents.
  7. Once the documents are verified, the NITA will schedule a date for physical inspection at the applicant’s premises of operations.
  8. On the scheduled date, an inspection team from NITA’s office will visit the applicant’s premises and conduct a due diligence inspection to confirm if the premises meets the required standards for training.
  9. Upon the inspection, the assessment team will write a report of the inspection’s findings and submit the report to the NITA for review.
  10. Then NITA will review the report and if it is determined the applicant qualifies to be registered as a training provider, NITA will approve the application which is usually within 40 days.
  11. Then NITA will communicate to the applicant in writing the registration status within thirty days of the inspection.
  12. If the applicant is registered, the applicant will be provided with the NITA’s registration certificate. Note that the Registration will be valid up to the 15th of March of the following year.

Eligibility

Applicants should meet the following eligibility Ghana.The business/organization must be locally registered or incorporated.

  • If registered under the Business Name Act (Cap 499), the name must reflect the training functions and the physical address on the certificate must tally with the application form.
  • If incorporated under the Company Act (Cap 486), the Memorandum & Articles of Association should explicitly state training as a core business.
  • If registered under any other Act, the Constitution must reflect training as one of its aims and objectives and must establish and incorporate a training entity with its own full-time Chief Trainer and resource persons.
  • Organizations established by an Act of Parliament for purposes other than training but mandated to carry out training must establish and incorporate a training entity
  • The entity should have its own full-time Chief Trainer and resource persons.




Fees

  • The application fee is GHS. 12,000 payable




Validity

  • The registration is valid for one year and it can be renewed thereafter.

  • The applicant should read the Registration and Renewal Guidelines and the accompanying Code of Conduct before filling out the application form.
  • The applicant should fill out a separate form for each category of training applied For
  • An incomplete form shall not be processed.

  • The registration is a quality assurance process conducted by the NITA indicating that a Training Provider is capable of providing high-quality training in a sound and safe environment.
