Apply In-Person:

1. Application for a Commercial Coffee Marketing Licenseis done in person by visiting the Agriculture and Food Authority Board Head Offices in Ghana.

3. Application form should obtain the respective office.
4. Also, make sure that you have all the documents listed in the “Required documents” section of this page.
5. Payment of appropriate fees should be made and that can be found under the "Fees" section of this page.
6. Submit the completed application form and pay the required application fee and submit the receipt as proof of payment.
7. This is followed by an inspection of applicants by the Board field Officers
8. The Board field officers will make recommendations on the application and forward their report forwarded to Board’s Headquarters for the ultimate Board approval.
9. Upon a successful approval by the board a list of approved commercial coffee marketing is published in the Ghana gazette.
10. At this point the applicant is notified and he/she will be required to pay the respective license fee of US$ 500 to the board and submit the receipt as proof of payment.
11. Once the license processing is done the Commercial Coffee Marketing Licenseis issued to the applicant of license by the Managing Director of the Agriculture and Food Authority.
12. New licenses take a maximum of 90 days to process.

• Application form
• A certified copy of certificate of incorporation.
• A certified copy of memorandum and articles of association.
• A paid up share capital of not less than GHS. 300,000.
• Names of company directors, individual National ID/Passport No, Pin Numbers and certificate of good conduct.
• Names and addresses of two business referees.
• Tax compliance certificate from Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) for the Company and Directors.
• Clearance letter from the Nairobi Coffee Exchange (NCE).
• Compliance with Statutory requirements, including but not limited to NEMA certificate (where applicable) Safety & Occupational Health Certificate (where applicable) and Local Authority Business Permit.
• A valid performance bond of GHS. 1,000,000 in favor of Coffee Directorate of Kenya.
• Proof of engaging the services of a coffee liquored registered by the Directorate.
• Undertaking to furnish the Directorate with monthly returns.
• Any other requirements that may be prescribed by the Directorate from time to time.
• If applicant is a registered business, the certificate of registration and particulars of the proprietors.

• Any person, cooperative society, group or company who wants to buy coffee at the Exchange or to import coffee in Ghana is eligible to make this application.

• Application fees is GHS 1,000 (Non-refundable)
• License fees US$ 500.

• The license is valid for a period of one year.

• A Commercial Coffee Marketing License authorizes the holder to conduct the business of marketing coffee and auctioneering.
• No person can commercially market coffee unless he/she is the holder of a current license issued in respect thereof by the Board after consultation with the Director.
