Apply In-Person:

1. To Apply for Special Pass in person, the applicant must approach the Comptroller-General of Ghana Immigration Service (GIS) office Contact link
2. The Applicant has to approach the Ghana Immigration Service centre and the applicant can get their application form.
3. Fill out the application form and other relevant documents.
4. The applicant has to make sure that he or she has all the required documents that are required for this process to be successful and they can be found under the "Required Documents" section of this page.
5. Processing is free of charge. However, the applicant has to pay Issuance Fees and Special Pass Fees and that can be found under the "Fees" section of this page.
6. Submit the completed form in two copies along with the supporting documents to the respective office.
7. If all the necessary information is provided along with the needed documents, the applicant can get their special pass.
8. If the pass is refused or if it takes more than a week for the procedure to complete, the applicant can visit the office to know the status of their application.
9. The processing time for this procedure takes within a week

• Special Pass is necessary for foreigners in Ghana for conducting any business, trade or profession within the country.

• Applicant has to wait until they get a special pass for engaging in special activities like business, trade or any other activities in Ghana.
• However, notification of approval may not be used as a permit for engaging in special activities.
