Apply In-Person:

1. Applicant visit the Ghana Embassy office and the applicant can get their application form for official authentication of documents contact link
2. Applicant must make sure to carry all necessary documents that are mentioned under “Required Documents” section of this page. (Both photocopies and originals)
3. Fill out the application form, which can be obtained from the embassy offices or download it via the embassy website if available.
4. Submit the completed form along with the documents(s) that need authentication for processing.
5. Please refer to the fees details in the “Fees” section of this page.
6. Applicant will be notified by the embassy when his/her should re-visit the embassy to collect the authenticated copies of the document(s).
7. Generally, the processing time for this procedure is 3-4 days.

The documents to be authenticated should meet the following criteria

• Be notarised by a Notary Public in Ghana,
• Be covered by an attestation from the Judicial Service of Ghana,
• Be covered by an attestation from the Legal and Consular Bureau of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration in Accra
• Be translated( if applicable)
• Be certified/authenticated by the issuing authority,

• Ghana consular fees:
  • Regular service commercial and civil documents: $30.00 per document.
  • US state per department: $20 per document.
• Washington express visas fees :
  • Regular service : $205

• Document validity for 5 years.

• Please make sure you have followed the all steps required for authentication before submitting your document to the Ghana embassy /consulate- general for final legalization.
• You document must be authentic, intact and legitimate. The embassy/consulate-generals will not authenticate a document that contains illegal contents under Ghana laws or may cause potential threats to Ghana’s national or public interest.
