Apply In-Person:

1. To Cancel Gun License in Ghana, the applicant must go to the Ministry of the Interior, Ghana. contact link
2. The applicant can collect the application Form from the office of the Ministry of the Interior.
3. Fill the form with the right information to facilitate the process.
4. Fill in all the necessary details in the application and submit with supporting documents as mentioned in the “Required Documents” section, with corresponding fees to the fees listed in the “Fees” section of this page
5. The Commission will review the application and all submitted documents. This process takes averagely 2 to 3 months. Once the applicant meets all the requirements, the Commission will issue an invoice for the license fee to be paid.
6. After payment is done, the Commission will proceed to issue the license accordingly.
7. The process takes two to three months. This is usually the case when applicants present all the documents the right way.
8. If an application is rejected, the license fee shall be refunded back to the applicant.
9. On scrutinizing the application if the issuing officer is satisfied he shall cancel the license to the applicant.
10. The processing time for this procedure takes 2 to 3 months.

• Attested copy of address proof: Voter Identity Card, Passport, Electricity/ Water/Telephone Bill, Driving License, Property (House) Tax, Tax Return, National identification Card.
• Attested copy of date of birth: Police clearance Certificate, Birth certificate, Affidavit sworn before a Magistrate/Notary stating date and place of birth by illiterate or semi-illiterate applicants.
