Ghana - Business Re-registration with No New TIN (Registrar General Department)

How to Apply
In-Person Application

  1. Visit the Registrar General’s Department(RGD) office near you and express your interest at the service desk.
  2. You will then be required to pay for the application form for Re-registration you wish to amend, at a cost of GHS 3.50 at the in-house bank or download it via the RGD website or click the link below to download : (Application form click Re-registration to select)
  3. Please read carefully through the application form as it contain different sections.
  4. The completed application form along with the supporting documents (listed below) are to be submitted by post, e-mail or electronically delivered to the Registrar of Business Names, P. O. Box 118, Accra, within 28 days after any change in any of the particulars registered.
  5. The Business names Registration department will then Verify and process your application.
  6. If the authorized official is satisfied that all the information are in order, you will be notified and issued with an amended business Re-registration certificate and other supporting documents.

Online application

  1. Visit the Registrar general’s department (RGD) website : Apply Online
  2. LOGIN by entering your user ID and password then click on “GO”, If you don’t have an account you will be required to sign up click on “Ghana online portal access” to create an account.
  3. On the RGD portal home page click on “service” tab, the Service page will be displayed, click on“Entity registration with an old TIN”under the business section.
  4. The Transaction Dashboard will display then Click on “Business Re-registration” then select“Re-registration Without TIN “on the extended menu.
  5. Business Re-registration (No New TIN Exists) screen will display then Click on "Create New" to start Re-registration process.
  6. The next page you will be required to do a business/company Re-registration search and enter the entity type that you wish to Re-register then Click on "Search" when you have entered the necessary details.
  7. RGD portal will display summary page of the business name search if successful Click "Proceed" to start Re-registration.
  8. Business Re-registration Data Entry Page will display. You will be redirected to the next pages of the application process, will display details about the business i.e. business nature, address and contact details, make the necessary updates and ADD new data require, then click on “save and proceed”.
  9. Fill out Personal details, please note Individuals must be in possession of a New Individual TIN. Enter TIN and Click "Lookup" to search for personal details.
  10. Personal details of the proprietor will be displace edit where applicable and necessary then click on"OK" to confirm Personal Details a summary page details will be display for you to verify then Click on “Save and Proceed"
  11. Fill out Other Details. Please note that you must select the RGD Office that you wish to process your Re-registration, then Click on “Save and Proceed"
  12. “Document Upload” pop-up window will display, Select the Document type by clicking the Tick Box, Enter Document Description then click on “Upload “button.
  13. “File Upload” page will be display, Select the document then click on “Open” button.
  14. “Document Upload” window with Uploaded Document will display then click on “Done” button to return to the main screen.
  15. The next page will display the “summary details” of the application, verify that all the information are in order then on Click “Confirm” to submit.
  16. Success Message will display. Click on “Print” button if you wish to have a copy of the transaction
  17. You will be notified of the outcome via email/SMS of the outcome and given further instruction.

Note:
You may track the progress of the transaction via the Portal Dashboard.

Printing out the certificate:

  1. Re-visit the RGD the home page by clicking the link below and log in : Print Online
  2. On the RGD portal home page click on “service” tab, the Service page will be displayed.
  3. Click on ”Generate e-certificate” link under e-shop, to save and print certificate and other supporting documents after approval is given


Required Documents

  • Identification documents copies (ID card/ valid passport biometric page)
  • Declaration Document
  • Old Registration Particulars (i.e. Registration Certificates, Business Profile or any other Relevant Documents
  • Copies of individual TIN for all directors, executive members, secretaries and shareholders from GRA
  • Any other documents requested by the RGD
