Apply In-Person:

1. To Apply for Purchase and Export Diamond in Ghana, the applicant has to approach the precious minerals marketing company limited (PMMC) in Ghana link'
2. Applicant must obtain the application form from the PMMC department.
3. Applicant has to enter all the information in the application form.
4. Applicant must make sure to carry all the necessary documents that are mentioned under “Required Documents” section of this page.
5. Applicant should attach photocopies of documents along with the application form while submitting it at the office.
6. The Fee for this procedure has to be paid as per the authority’s request.
7. If all the above mentioned procedures were followed properly by the applicant, the application form will be viewed by the concerned authorities and the applicant will be notified regarding their Purchase and Export Diamond.
8. This application will be processed and the information will be verified by the PMMC.
9. If the verification is successful, the notification will be sent to the applicant.
10. After seeing this notification, the applicant must go to the respective office and get their permit.
11. Generally, the processing time for this procedure is 1 month.

• This certificate is required by the holder/applicant in order to sell and buy diamond, otherwise, the dealing in diamond without this document is illegal and prohibited until the applicant obtain a Purchase and Export Diamond permit.

• The export of diamond out of the jurisdiction of Ghana can only be done under a license by an entity. This is regulated under the minerals and mining Act, 2006 (Act 703). It provides among others that, the minister in consultation with the commission
• May in writing license persons the minister considers fit, to buy and deal in the types and forms of minerals identified under the Act.
