Apply In-Person:

1. To Apply for Provisional Hunter permit or license in Ghana, the applicant must go to the Ministry of the Interior, Ghana. contact link
2. The applicant can collect the application Form from the office of the Ministry of the Interior.
3. Proof that he/she attended a registered professional hunting school and possesses the necessary knowledge, ability, skills and experience required, as well as having passed the relevant practical examinations.
4. Proof that he/she has successfully completed the theoretical examination set by the relevant provincial nature conservation authorities. No person under the age of twenty-one (21) shall be issued a permit to operate as a professional hunter.
5. Fill in all the necessary details in the application and submit with supporting documents as mentioned in the “Required Documents” section, with corresponding fees to the.
6. Payment of appropriate fees should be made and that can be found under the "Fees" section of this page.
7. If an application is rejected, the license fee shall be refunded back to the applicant.
8. On scrutinizing the application if the issuing officer is satisfied, he shall grant the license to the applicant within 7days.

Note: unless the applicant can submit written proof of having at least 60 days experience hunting dangerous game or alternative of being in possession of a valid permit before 30 marches 1997.

• Any person who has held a Game License for a period of 12 months is eligible for a Professional Hunters License.
• All Foreigners and Resident of Ghana with a hunting pass or license are Eligible.
• Foreigner tourist must have a tourist visa
• Persons who wish to engage in activities of hunting game birds are required to have a Game License (GL) issued by the Licensing Officer. The GL authorizes the hunting of Game birds in such areas, for such periods, and subject to such conditions as may be prescribed by the Minister responsible for wildlife.

• The applicant can consult the concerned authority for fees details.

• A license granted shall be valid for the period specified, and not exceeding one year.
