Apply In-Person:

1. To Apply for Occupation Certificate in Ghana, the applicant has to approach the Accra Metropolitan Assembly office (AMA). Contact link
2. Applicant must obtain the application form from the AMA office.
3. Applicant has to enter all the information in the application form.
4. The applicant has to make sure he or she has all the required documents that are required for this process to be successful and they can be found under the "Required Documents" section of this page.
5. Payment of appropriate fees should be made and that can be found under the "Fees" section of this page.
6. Submit the completed application along with required documents to the receiving authority.
7. Authorities after checking the attached documents and application submitted will make entries and provide you record number for reference.
8. This application will be processed internally.
9. Verifying Officer will refer the same to the concerned public agencies for obtaining No-objection certificate before granting or refusing permission to the applicant.
10. Respective department authorities will conduct a physical inspection of the building on the notified date. They will check whether building is constructed according to the approved plan.
11. Based on the inspection result a NOC will be generated by Nodal officer.
12. If there is any deviation is found then, authority will levy a penalty. This amount should be paid at the cash counter of the respective office. Applicant shall make the payment and submit the receipt to get the certificate as notified.
13. If there is no deviation, certificate will be issued as per notification.
14. Generally, the processing time for this procedure taken up to 14 days.
