Apply In-Person:

1. To Apply for Livestock Breeders and Traders License in Ghana, the applicant must go to the Ada East District Assembly (AEDA) office contact link
2. Applicants should obtain the required application form from the Ada East District Assembly Office.
3. Applicant must be filled all the information in the application form.
4. Applicant must make sure to carry all necessary documents that are mentioned under “Required Documents” section of this page.
5. Attach all the documents with the application letter and submit it to the authority.
6. Please pay as authority’s advice at the time of applying.
7. After assessing the application and attached documents, the authority will initially issue an Approval-In-Principle.
8. Not later than six months after the grant of the authority, the promoters of a proposed bank will receive a formal notification instructing to submit an application for the grant of final license.
9. The application should also contain some of the documents in support for the grant of the final license, addressed to the authority.
10. Once the verifications of all the documents and application has been done, the applicant will be informed through phone or email to collect the final license within one month.

• Copy of Ghanaian card (applicant)
• Passport size picture (applicants and cattle pounds)
• Copy of the passport.
• Sworn Affidavit declaring the nature of trade and where the trade is to function in Rs.20/- non-judicial stamp paper attested by a Notary Public.
• Passport size photograph of the applicant
• Property tax receipt copy in respect to the trade premises
• Residential proof of the applicant.
• NOC from the District Fire Officer wherever necessary.
• NOC from the Pollution Control Board wherever necessary.
• Certificate from the Inspector of Factories should be obtained if more than nine workers are proposed to be simultaneously employed at any time in the factory, workshop. Work-place or premises.
• Other documents that may be requested by the AEDA.
• Proof of payment for this license

• Applicants are advised to complete the application form neatly and completely with absolute legibility and appropriateness to avoid rejections.
• Also, all the required documents must be furnished completely.
• The fee structure for the issuance of the license differs based on the nature of the business.
• The failure to comply with pre-requisites of the trade license can also result in the closure of a business.
• No centre shall operate without proper permission and license.
• Apply and obtain this license for a legitimate operation.

• A license is required by anyone selling animals as pets, either directly or with a view to them later being sold as pets, in the course of a business.
• A breeder must be licensed if they breed more than five litters a year. Licensed breeders are subject to inspections by the local authority and have to meet certain requirements regarding the welfare and care of their dogs and puppies.
• Every trader involved in a general trading activity within the territorial boundaries of any municipal corporation is required to get a trade license.
