Apply In-Person:

1. To Apply for hotels and restaurant License is available in Ghana ADA East District Assembly link
2. Read and complete the application form correctly and then obtain and prepare all the required documents as outlined in the application form.
3. Once the application form and any relevant supporting information or documents have been completed, signed, stamped and certified where required, the applicant will then visit AEDA of to submit the complete application for Hotel Licence.
4. The AEDA will review and assess the application to determine if it meets the required standards and if the entire required document provided are correct, then it will appoint an inspector to conduct an inspection on the said hotel and notify he/she on the inspection date.
5. The AEDA inspector will visit the hotel site on the appointment date and asses the both the regulatory and standards elements of the development and then forward the finding to the AEDA.
6. If the inspection assessment is successful, the AEDA will process the application and present a recommendation on the application to the AEDA broad at its monthly meeting for approval. Note that the AEDA may decide to conduct a reinsertion on the site for verification of the inspection report.
7. Once the license is approved by the AEDA, the applicant will be notified of the grant approval then a licence document is prepared and the Hotel Licence will then be issued.
8. Visit the AEDA to collect the applicant’s license. Note that the licence granted is subject to the terms and conditions that the Board specifies in the licence and shall be for such period as may be specified in the licence.
9. Generally, the processing time for this procedure is 6 working days.

• Utility bills such as water bill or electricity bill or gas bill
• Kitchen layout plan
• Declaration of food safety management plan
• Affidavit
• Declaration by chartered accountant declaring that the turnover
• List of food categories being used and served in the hotel
• Water testing report of the water being used in the hotel from an ISI approved facility
• No objection certificate from the hotel owner, partners or directors
• Medical certificates of employees

• Citizens, residents and companies that wish to operate a hotel business in Ghana are eligible to apply for a hotel license

• The Fee for this procedure has to be paid as per the authority’s request.

• The applicants are required to complete and submit the application form along with the other required documentation to the AEDA.  In order to ensure their submissions are processed expeditiously, please verify that all the information is completed fully, and the required supporting documents/information is submitted along with the applications.
• It takes approximately one month to process the Licence as the Board of the Directors of the Saint Catherine Tourist Board meet once a month to review and approve Licences.  The applicant’s submission must be made in advance of the meeting usually by the first Friday of the month in order to be considered.
