1. To Apply for Electrical Wiring Professional Certification Examination in Ghana, the applicant has to approach the Ghana Energy Commission Office contact link
2. Application Form can be downloaded from the link
3. Attach a signed letter addressed to the Executive Secretary of the Energy Commission and all required documentsand they can be found under the "Required Documents" section of this page.
4. The applicant should make sure are eligible for Apply for Electrical Wiring Professional Certification Examinationby reading through the eligibility criteria that has been listed out under the “Eligibility “of this page.
5. Payment of appropriate fees should be made and that can be found under the "Fees" section of this page.
6. Pay appropriate registration nonrefundable processing fee of GHS2, 000 to GCB Account No. 1011130039212, High Street Branch and attach proof of payment.
7. Submit the completed application form and all required documents at the office of the Energy Commission, Ghana Airways Avenue, Airport Residential Area, in person or by courier.
8. If all the above mentioned procedures were followed properly by the applicant, the application form will be viewed by concerned authorities and the applicant will be notified regarding their application.
9. If there is no information regarding the application, then, the applicant can visit the office to know status of the application.
10. The Processing time for this procedure is 1 month.

• The Electrical Wiring Professional Certificate is issued to qualified personnel certified to undertake safe electrical wiring in accordance with the Electrical Wiring Regulation, 2011 (L.I.2008).

• Pay appropriate registration nonrefundable processing fee of GHS2, 000 to GCB Account No. 1011130039212, High Street Branch and attach proof of payment
• Domestic fees - GHC 450 (HOMES, APARTMENTS, ESTATES, BUNGALOWS, FLATS, COTTAGES, KIOSKS ETC. (SINGLE PHASE)
• Commercial fees- GHC 580 (HOTELS, CHURCHES, MARKETS, BLOCK FACTORIES, FILLING STATIONS, HOSPITALS, SCHOOLS, BANKS, SHOPPING MALLS, ETC. (THREE PHASE)

Note: (Prices quoted above cover only the examination. Cost of ID Cards, Certificates, Stamp, and Installation Forms are not included and shall be paid for by successful applicants.)

• Examination will take more than a day. Interview and practical will be on different dates, maximum three (3) days.

• A licensed electrician will be appointed for erection of electrical wiring.
• An electrician is a tradesperson specializing in electrical wiring of buildings.
• To do an electrical work in buildings one should get a licence to do the work.
