Apply In-Person:

1. To Apply for Community Radio License in Ghana, the applicant must go to the National Communications Authority office contact link
2. Applicant must download the application form from this Link
3. Applicant must be obtain, complete and submit the relevant application forms together with the appropriate application fee.
4. The applicant has to make sure that he or she has all the required documents that are required for this process to be successful and they can be found under the "Required Documents" section of this page.
5. Payment of appropriate fees should be made and that can be found under the "Fees" section of this page.
6. The national communication authority will acknowledge in writing, receipt of the application.
7. The national communications authority will evaluate the application and respond to the applicant in due course.
8. After the applicants get their notification from the NCA office, then, he/she goes to the NCA office and get their license.
9. Generally, the processing time for this procedure takes 60 days.

• A Radio license provides the applicant with a unique frequency on which he/she can operate his/her radios legally and securely.

• Community radio is when local people produce and broadcast their own programs and participate in operating the station. It is community space for people to meet and collaborate. It is extraordinarily fun and often life changing. It typically leads to individual creativity and self-empowerment.
