Gabon - Apply for Immigration Visa


Procedure

  • Check the current Kenyan visa regulations from the Gabon foreign ministry or find the Gabon embassy in your country of permanent residence to obtain the visa application requirements for Gabon;
  • Get a visa application form and fill it in accurately;
  • Make all the necessary payments;
  • Attach all the necessary documents;
  • Submit passport with all the documents any diplomatic mission or consular institution of the Republic of Gabon in your country of residence;
  • Interview appointment letter is given which you must carefully read to get all the interview details at heart such as the date of interview, venue and particular time.
  • The next step is Visa interview: This process involves interviews with questions on a number of issues. It is either a miss or catch for visa interview. Although you badly need the Visa to finalize travel plans, the interview is a must and often involves stress and anxiety;
  • A visa is then stamped into ones passport after passing the interview;

Foreigners from outside Africa may apply for a residence permit. which can be obtained prior to departure at the Gabon embassy in their home country.





Required Documents

Different documents are needed for the different types of visas:

SINGLE JOURNEY VISAS
  1. Two visa application forms V.I duly filled, signed and dated.
  2. Two copies of an Invitation letter/ Cover letter from the applicant.
  3. Two copies of identity card if host is Gabon.
  4. Two copies of valid residential work permit if host is a foreigner.
  5. Two copies of marriage certificate if visiting spouse.
  6. Two passport size photographs of the applicant.
  7. Two copies of valid Passport/travel document of the applicants Bio data page and page showing validity of at least six months.
  8. Two copies of medical referral letter from a hospital or a doctor for medical cases.
  9. Two copies of applicants residential/work permit if not residing in their country
MULTIPLE JOURNEY VISAS
  1. Two visa application forms V.I duly filled, signed and dated.
  2. Two passport size photographs of the applicant.
  3. Two copies of a Cover letter from the applicant detailing the need for an MJV.
  4. Copies of previous visas.
  5. Applicants applying for multiple journey Visas to visit their spouses should avail in addition to the above, the following: -
  6. Their spouses National identity Card if Kenyan
  7. Residential/Work permit if spouse is a foreigner
  8. Copy of marriage certificate
  9. Parents applying for Multiple journey Visas to Gabon to visit their children in schools should avail copies of valid pupils passes and copies of Valid residential permits in their countries of residence
TRANSIT VISAS
  1. Two visa application forms V.I duly filled, signed and dated.
  2. Two passport size photographs of the applicant.
  3. Two copies of valid Passport.
  4. Copies of onward ticket/itinerary to a third destination.

Eligibility

To be eligible, an applicant must have a valid passport. The passport should have at least 6 months remaining validity.




Fees

Visa fees are as follows
  • Single entry U$ 50 per individual
  • Multiple entry visa 6-12 months U$ 100
  • Multiple entry visa 24 months U$ 150
  • Multiple entry visa 36 months U$ 200




Validity

Gabon visas are usually valid for entry within three to ninety days from the date of issue

  • The passport must be valid for at least 6 months, and it must have a clean and full visa page for endorsement.
  • The original passport is to be submitted together with the application form. Also, the applicant should submit his/her application with the correct fee as stated in the fee section depending on the travel plans made to avoid delay in processing of the visa.

A visa is a clearance permitting a person to proceed to visit another country. An immigration visa is a clearance that permits a person to another country to apply for permanent residence.

An immigration visa is a document issued by a countrys consular officer abroad that allows the applicant to travel to the country and apply for admission as a legal permanent resident (LPR). There are several types of visas;

  • Single journey Visa
  • Multiple journey Visa
  • Transit Visa

The Gabon Embassies and Consular Offices are the only authorized Gabon Government Agencies, who are permitted to grant Gabon visas in a different country.

  • A visa in your passport does not guarantee entry. That remains the right of the immigration officials in Gabon.
  • Arrival / departure declaration cards are available at the arrival lounge.
  • Sometimes you may be required to provide additional documents.
  • Carefully read through your interview appointment letter.
  • Carry all required documents that may have been asked for in the interview appointment letter.
  • Photos should be attached to the application form by use of glue stick. Stapling and clipping the photo to the application form is not advisable.

  • Once admitted as a Legal Permanent Resident, an applicant generally has the right to live and work in Gabon permanently.
  • One can work and study in Gabon
  • An applicant can be enrolled in any schemes for some social services like health-related care and expenses
  • He / she can access certain social security payments
  • Apply for Gabon citizenship (after you have lived in the country for a given period of time)
  • Propose family members for permanent residence
  • Attend English or french language classes
  • Detailed information is captured for a foreigner entering into the country;
  • Someone can easily be contacted in cases of any emergencies as information where he / she will be staying is captured through the process.
