How to Apply:

1. You should write a handwritten request letter addressed to the Minister of the Interior and submit it along with the supporting documents (listed under “Required Documents” section) to the ministry office near you within 24 hours of having experienced the disaster.
2. The ministry will then instruct a Social Worker to conduct an assessment need on the affected household to determine, if aid is required.
   • Verify that indeed the household's residential structure was affected by the disaster.
   • The household/owner does not have any other habitable structure, that is, all other structures have been destroyed
3. The Social Worker will then submit the assessment report to the ministry for verification and processing.
4. The minister or the authorized official will then make a determination on whether the household should be assisted and also the type of assistance rendered appropriate for the full recovery of the household(s).

• Attach photos of the place of the disaster, for example the house
• The list of lost effects
• The intervention report drawn up by the firefighters in the event of a fire
• Photocopies of ID of the victims
