Apply In-Person:

1. To transfer the ownership of the vehicle (Replacement or Duplicate Registration Certificate), the applicant must visit the Land Transport Authority (LTA) Fiji. Contacts Link
2. The application form must be obtained from the authorities in the LTA office, else it can be downloaded from the website. Application Form
3. Make sure that you have all the documents that are mentioned in the “Required Documents” section.
4. First, the applicant must create the Transferee ID in the Fiji LTA database.
5. The application form should be filled with necessary details and along with the required documents it should be submitted to the CSO – Customer Service Officer.
6. The CSO will update the details of the application in the Fiji LTA system.
7. The CSO will check the details of the vehicle, whether it is self-imported or a pre-owned vehicle.
8. If the vehicle is self-imported in less than years, the application will be forwarded to the Regional Manager (RM) will verification and approval.
9. If not, the CSO will forward the application to RM and TL for further verification.
10. The buyer of the vehicle must newly get the 3rd party amendment letter, and it must be submitted again to the CSO, and the details of the new 3rd party amendment will be updated in the system.
11. After that the CSO will issue the “New Registration Certificate” to the new owner. (buyer)

13. The processing time for this procedure will be intimated by the authorities in the Fiji LTA office.

Note:
Before applying for transfer of ownership:

• New buyer should have cleared all the fines. (If any)
• If there are any defects on the vehicle, it should be cleared by the owner.
• If there is any financial interest, it should also be cleared by the owner.

• 3rd party insurance letter transferred in the buyer’s name.
• Registration sticker. (To be surrendered)

• Also, the vehicle that is being transferred should not have any current defect and financial interest. All should be cleared before applying for the transfer of ownership.
