Apply In-Person:

1. To Get Licence for Financial Institutions, the applicant must visit the Reserve Bank of Fiji office. Contact Link
2. The applicant should write a hand written application form stating to the reason to start a financial institution in Fiji to the Fiji Reserve Bank.
3. Make sure that you have all the documents that are mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
4. While submitting the application, the applicant must pay the application fee intimated by the officials in the Reserve Bank.
5. The written application forms should be filled with necessary details, and along with the required documents, it should be submitted to the respective authority in the Reserve Bank of Fiji.
6. After receiving the application form, the respective officials in the Reserve Bank will investigate the application.
7. After complete verification and document checks, if all the documents are legitimate, then the Reserve Bank will issue the Financial Institution License to the applicant.
8. After the license is granted, it must be advertised in the Fiji daily newspaper as well as in the Gazette.
9. The application and license fee vary from time to time in Reserve Bank based on the application.
10. The processing time to issue the Financial Institution license will take more than 90 days.

• A statement of address of its head office, the name, address of every member of the board, and it’s principal officer.
• Copies of latest 3 audited annual balance sheet, profit and loss of the company.
• Any other documents or information that the Reserve Bank of Fiji may deem appropriate.

• Any company wish to commence banking business in Fiji especially related to financial institution is eligible to apply for this license application.

All the information requested by the Reserve Bank should be furnished in the written application form.

Without getting the official license from the Reserve Bank of Fiji, nobody is allowed to do banking business in Fiji. It must be licensed and registered by the Reserve Bank in Fiji.

If any individual/company runs banking business without the approval, then they will be legally punished as well need to pay fine not less than $1000 in respect of each day.
