Fiji - Apply for Transfer of Brand


Procedure

Apply In-Person:

  1. To Apply for Transfer of Brand, the applicant must go to the Registrar of Companies office in Fiji. Contacts
  2. The applicant must obtain the Form D “APPLICATION FOR TRANSFER OF BRAND” from the authorities in the Registrar of Companies office.
  3. Make sure that you have all the documents that are mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
  4. The application form should be filled with necessary details, and along with the required documents, it should be submitted to the Registrar of Brands official in the Fiji’s Registrar of Companies office.
  5. The application fee of $2 must be paid and the receipt must be attached with the application form.
  6. Then, the registrar will verify the application form.
  7. After the verification, the brand name will be transferred in the name of the “transferee” mentioned in the application form.
  8. After transferring the brand name, the transfer certificate will be issued to both the applicant and the transferee by the Registrar of Brands in the Registrar of Companies office.
  9. The transferee will also receive the “registration certificate” in their name.
  10. The processing time will be intimated to the applicant while applying.

The brand owner is eligible to transfer the brand to the other person/company.

Application Fee - $ 2.00


Validity

The validity will be mentioned in both the “transfer certificate” and “registration certificate” issued to the applicant and the transferee.

If the brand owner decides to transfer the brand to other person/company, then it must be registered in the Fiji Registrar of Companies according to the Laws of Brands Acts and Legislation.
