Apply In-Person:

1. To apply for the Minibus Permit, the applicant must visit the Land Transport Authority (LTA) Fiji. Contacts
2. The “Minibus Permit” application form must be obtained from the authorities in the LTA office.
3. The application fee for the Minibus permit is $ 65.40.
4. The application form must be filled with necessary details.
5. After that, the client ID must be created in the LTA’s system.
6. After creating the ID, the applicant must go for the interview with CSO in the LTA office.
7. The CSO will check whether the applicant is eligible to apply for the Minibus Permit.
8. If the applicant passes the interview, he then must submit the required documents for first verification.
9. Make sure that you have all the documents that are mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
10. The first verification will be done by the PSV CSO, and if the verification is successful, the application will be moved further to the PSV Team Leader for second verification.
11. If the first verification is failed, the applicant will be notified about the flaws in the application.
12. If second verification is successful, the application must be given in the daily newspaper to advertise.
13. The applicant must wait for 14 days after advertisement to check whether the application is receiving any supports or objection.
14. If there is support and no denial from the public, the application will be moved for the approval process.
15. If there is any objection, the application will be rejected by the CSO office, and a rejection letter will be issued to the applicant at this stage.
16. However, if the application gets approved, the applicant needs to register the Minibus permit within 3 months of issuing the approval letter.
17. After receiving the approval, the applicant must pay the permit fees, which is $ 28.91. Form

To get the Minibus permit in Fiji,

• The applicant must be a Fiji Citizen or should have dual Citizenship status in Fiji.
• The applicant must be above 21 years of age.
• All convicted TINs must be cleared before applying for the permit.
• The applicant should not hold 2 or more permit.

The instructions given by the LTA authorities for not to do by the Minibus permit holder are,

• Stand or ply for hire from a point other than a stand or base from which it is authorised to operate.
• Stop to pick up a passenger within 300 meters from a bus stop, bus stand or taxi stand except from a stand from which the minibus is authorised to operate.
• Stop in any place which would create a hazard to passengers, pedestrians or other road users or delay other traffic.

• To run a Minibus in Fiji, the minibus holder or owner must get the permit approval from the authorities in the LTA office.
• It is illegal to run a minibus without the permission from the LTA office.
  

• The driver of the minibus must hold Class (Four) 4 or Class (Five) 5 driver’s licence.
• The minibus should have the yellow-coloured number plate issued by the LTA authorities.
