1. To apply for the driver licence update renewal, the applicant must visit the Land Transport Authority (LTA) Fiji. Contacts
2. The “driver’s license update renewal” application form must be obtained from the authorities in the LTA office, else it can be downloaded from the official website. Form
3. After getting the driver’s license renewal, it must be updated within the expiry date given in the renewal license.
4. Before applying for the renewal update, the applicant must have cleared all the convicted fines.
5. Make sure that you have all the documents that are mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
6. The application form should be filled with necessary details, and then along with the required documents, it should be submitted to the CSO – Customer Service Officer.
7. The CSO will update your application details in the system.
8. After that, you have to pay the application fee.
9. After verifying the application form, the applicant will get the renewal update for the driver’s license.
10. The processing time will be intimated by the authorities in the Fiji LTA office.
11. The fee for this process will be intimated while applying in the LTA office.

To renew the Driving License, the applicant must have,

• Valid DDC. (Only if application is for classes 3, 4, or 5 licenses).
• They should have cleared all the convicted fines.
• However, the applicants over 70 years must produce medical certificate and be re-issued with one year renewal.
  

The fee for this procedure will be intimated to the applicant while applying.

The updated renewal license is valid for a period of twelve (12) months or three (3) years or Six (6) years from the date of issue at the option of the holder.

The license must be renewed before the expiry date. Otherwise, the vehicle will be seized and it will lead to paying penalty.

If the driving license expired, then the applicant needs to do Learner’s permit and then driving test or pay arrears together with the renewal fees.
For expired License, the procedure is,

• If the PSV driver’s License expired for more than 1 year and less than 3 years. Then,
  • The applicant will need to get a learner’s permit.
  • Then they should pass the driving test before getting the license renewed.
    

• If the PSV driver’s license expired for more than 3 years. Then,
  • The applicant’s PSV licenses will be void. They will need to re-do the whole process of getting the PSV license.
    

• If the PSV driver’s license renewal for the applicant, whose age is in between 60-65 years. Then,
  • If the license is valid,
    • The applicant will need to apply using process mentioned above.
    • The application will be approved/rejected by the Regional Manager.
    • If the regional Manager approves the application, then they can get the license renewed for another 1 year.
    • If the regional manager rejects the application, then you will need to get the learners permit and pass the driving test before the license can be renewed.
  • If the license is valid, then
    • The applicant will need to get the learners permit and pass the driving test before the license can be renewed.
      

• PSV driver license renewal for the applicant’s whose age is greater than 65 years.
  • Same procedure as 4 above but the approval will be given by the CEO.

• Non-PSV driver license renewal for the applicant’s whose age is greater than 75 years.
  • Same process as in 4 above.
    

The updated driving license can be used as a proof of identity in Fiji.
